November 12, 2009 is World Usability Day. Simmons GSLIS Usability Lab, in partnering with the Student Chapters of American Society of Information Science and Technology and Special Library Association, will host an event at 9:00am-12pm on Thursday November 12th in the Paresky Conference Center at Simmons College. 

The event will feature a keynote speech titled "The Top Ten Myths of Usability" by Thomas S. (Tom) Tullis, Vice President of Usability at Fidelity Investments and Adjunct Professor at Bentley University in the Human Factors in Information Design program.

Following the keynote speech, Rong Tang (Director, GSLIS Usability Lab) and Linnea Johnson (Manager, GSLIS Usability Lab) will be presenting on "Usability Lab as a Collaborative Platform for Applied Research, Experiential Learning, and Community Services." 

The last part of the event will involve tours of the Usability Lab and also a potential book signing and a poster session of GSLIS student usability projects.
